Questions about Avis

  • Yes, Avis is a reliable car rental company because we are members of trade association BOVAG. To become a member of BOVAG, a company has to meet certain quality requirements.

    A rental company affiliated with BOVAG gives you the guarantee that they work to the highest quality standards and with legally correct rental contracts.

  • The vehicles in our fleet are in excellent condition. The rental cars are well maintained technically. Most passenger cars are no more than 9 months old. Vans and trucks are usually no more than 3 to 4 years old. Moreover, our rental cars are always properly cleaned and checked before each new rental. Avis is a member of BOVAG and is regularly checked by BOVAG for quality and service.

  • Are all rental cars available immediately? To ensure that the rental car class you want is available, it's best to book as early as possible before your scheduled departure date. Our branches and our call center can tell you exactly which car categories are available in the desired rental period and location.

    You can also use our national or international reservation system for this purpose. Some rental cars cannot be reserved online. You can find these details in the Fleet section. If a rental car cannot be reserved online, please contact our call center by calling +31 (0)88 - 900 55 55 or one of our Avis locations.

  • You can submit your complaint in writing to our customer service department via the online contact form, quoting your reservation number. We will get back to you on your complaint as soon as possible.

  • We are happy to help you in the way that suits you. Most branches can be contacted 7 days a week, and our call center can be contacted during business hours. Ask your questions via our chat, via whatsapp or call one of our staff members.

  • Yes, tow bars are available upon request. We have a limited number of cars and vans in the Dutch fleet with a tow bar. Rental cars with tow bar can be reserved through our online reservation system, through our call center in the Netherlands or at one of our Dutch Avis locations.

  • No, you can't rent snow chains at Avis.
