Avis Preferred

The more you rent with Avis Preferred, the more benefits you will receive. Our three participant levels are based on your rental history from the past loyalty year*, and come with pleasant surprises for all; from car upgrades to great partner offers.

Rent from us five times or more (and spend €1,000) within a year and you automatically qualify for Avis Preferred Plus. This gives you priority when cars are available, a free additional driver on every trip and, where possible, a free vehicle upgrade.

Rent ten times or more (and spend €2,000) within a year to reach our highest level, Avis President's Club. In addition to the benefits of Avis Preferred and Preferred Plus, you are guaranteed vehicle upgrades at train stations and airports (and at city locations, if available), as well as double upgrades on weekends, subject to availability. As an Avis Preferred member, you have access to our dedicated Preferred Customer service team and the Preferred hotline, guaranteeing you quick access to the best possible service.

• A “Loyalty Year” is the 12-month period from the date of registration/your anniversary date with Avis Preferred.

Please note: New rentals from Avis Preferred customers are temporarily not being automatically registered. Log in to Avis Preferred to track your progress through the loyalty levels. You can enter any missing rentals in the program to claim your points.

• Avis Preferred members must book at least four hours in advance. Make sure your Avis Preferred profile is always up to date (including an email address).
• Priority for the newest model cars is subject to availability during your chosen rental period, at your chosen rental location.
• Our key-in-the-car service is currently available at select Avis Preferred locations in Europe, the U.S., Canada and Australia.
• Car upgrades are subject to availability for Avis Preferred Plus participants. Double upgrades for Avis President's Club members are also subject to availability.
• Upgrades for Avis President's Club participants are guaranteed at airports and train stations in countries where the Avis Preferred loyalty program is available, and at city center locations subject to availability.
• Upgrades do not apply to vans, the Avis Select Series or Prestige cars, luxury cars, driver services, Safari rentals or rentals for terms longer than 14 days.
• Avis President's Club members are guaranteed cars with at least 48 hours’ notice.
• Corporate customers: your travel policy or business agreement may exclude you from upgrading to higher levels of the program (check this with your account manager), but you can still sign up for the Avis Preferred expedited service.
• Partnership customers: your travel policy or partnership agreement may exclude upgrades and free rentals, but please do sign up to take advantage of the Avis Preferred expedited service.
• To complete your Avis Preferred application, all you need is a driver's license and payment card, and you must meet the country's general reservation terms and conditions.
• You can save for Avis Preferred status by renting vehicles from the standard fleet, from the Avis Select Series and, in certain countries, from Avis Prestige.
• You can save for the Loyalty level by renting vans, luxury cars and chauffeur services in South Africa.
