Third-party insurance

All rental cars in Avis' fleet are covered by third-party insurance. This insurance covers all damage caused with the rented car to third parties. The premium for this third-party insurance is included as standard in our rental rates. However, there is a deductible for non-recoverable damages per claim.

Car rental with additional insurance

When renting a car or van, you can also opt for additional insurance, called occupant insurance. For when you want that extra bit of security.

Occupant insurance for the rental car
Occupant insurance indemnifies an occupant (including the driver) if he or she suffers damage or injury after an accident. This includes both compensation for personal injury and compensation for the next of kin in the event of death. There is also coverage for damage to personal items in the event of personal injury. Compensation is capped at €2,500,000. The question of guilt is irrelevant here.
