Standard Deductible

There is a standard deductible per damage event or in the event of theft. Damage events can include scratches, window damage, dents, a flat tire, theft, total loss, etc. The amount of the deductible depends on the car category and whether you are younger or older than 23. When your reservation is completed, the amount of the deductible will be shown on your reservation confirmation.
*For drivers under the age of 23, the deductible is doubled.

Lowering the Deductible

During your reservation, and prior to the rental period, you can reduce the standard deductible by paying a premium*. The amount of the premium to reduce the deductible depends on the rate type (special offer or standard rate), class/type of car, rental length and the age of the main driver.
*For drivers under the age of 23, both the deductible amounts and the premium for lowering the deductible are doubled.

Exception: overhead damage

If there is overhead damage*, an increased (and not reducible) deductible per occurrence of up to €1,500 applies.

By overhead damage, we mean; damage caused by the renting party due to a collision with the part of the vehicle that is more than 1.90 meters above the ground or by collision with items attached to the vehicle that are more than 1.90 meters above the ground.
