Questions about renting electric car with Avis

  • Yes, we ask that you return the electric rental car with the same battery level it had when you drove off, just like returning a gas car with the same fuel level.

    • Did you receive the car with, for example, 80% battery? Then please return it with 80% as well.
    • If you return the electric car with a lower battery level than at pickup, the charging costs for the difference will be charged to you.
    • If you return the car with a higher battery level, for example 100% instead of 80%, the extra charged percentage will be credited to your final rental bill in your favor.

    Just like refueling a gas car, service charges may also apply for recharging the vehicle.

  • Yes, the electric rental car comes with a Type 2 charging cable for use at public charging stations. Fast chargers have a fixed cable. A home charging cable is not included.

  • If your electric rental car breaks down during your trip through no fault of your own, we’ll make sure you’re back on the road quickly. In the Netherlands, your rental car will be repaired within 4 hours. If repair isn’t possible, we’ll arrange a replacement vehicle at no extra cost.

    Does the battery run out during your trip? Our roadside assistance will get you moving again. Any related costs may be at your expense, like running out of fuel in a gasoline car.
