Hybrid work and a company car?

The National Business Mobility Survey: here's what you need to know

The number of kilometers driven and travel frequencies fell sharply during the Covid crisis. But since the low point in 2020, there has been an increase, the survey reported. Business car users have been driving more and more kilometers. In 2022, we were almost back at 2019 levels. We are expected to return to the same average number of kilometers driven in 2023 as in 2019.

Companies predict an increase in external appointments

And after the huge dip in the number of physical external appointments, these are on the increase again. 38% of all companies surveyed indicated an increase in physical meetings compared to 2021. No fewer than 37% expect a further increase in the number of live appointments with external contacts in the coming year. At the same time, employees are also continuing to work from home.

Working from home combined with a company car?

According to Rabobank and Vodafone/Ziggo, offering a leased car is becoming less and less a given. Among other things, the bank will soon be offering shared cars for employees who need to drive less than 20,000 km/year on business. Flexible travel is becoming the new norm, then, as companies increasingly opt for mobility budgets that allow employees to choose between car, train or bicycle. An additional benefit: the environment is less impacted.

Full operational lease is op zijn retour

For a long time, full operating lease was the most popular form of lease for employers. This makes sense because: the organization can count on fixed monthly costs, and a fleet management department is absolutely unnecessary. But increasingly, companies are opting for somewhat shorter leases. Flexibility is key in these times. Short Leasing then proves to be a smart choice.

Another thing to consider: the CO2 registration requirement

As of January 1, 2024, employers with more than 100 employees must record all business trips and employee commutes. This is pursuant to the CO2 registration requirement under the Environment Act. We will be happy to help you keep track of your trips. On your Avis Business account you can easily find the information about: the number of rental days, kilometers driven, the tax value of the cars used and the CO2 emissions. Upon request, we can also provide the total overview of all reservations made and the license plates of cars currently rented out and deployed.
