We turn these disadvantages of electric driving into advantages

From disadvantages to advantages

1. The purchase price of electric cars and maintenance costs are high, but have you heard of short leasing from Avis?
If you want the latest business electric car or van, the purchase price can be uncomfortably high. Short Leasing from Avis is therefore an ideal solution. We have competitive and transparent all-in rates. With short leasing, moreover, you don't have a fixed contract, but rather a lot of flexibility. After all, you can return the car whenever you want.

In addition, you have no maintenance costs and enjoy tax benefits, because the costs of electric driving are lower. The average age of our cars is seven months, so they are also guaranteed to meet the latest environmental and safety requirements.

2. Charging takes a long time and there are too few charging stations, but soon that will be a thing of the past!
That measures such as environmental zones in large cities are coming is certain. One reason often given (and rightly so) for not switching to electric driving is that there are too few charging stations, and charging also often takes a long time. In areas where environmental zones are being established, however, municipalities are in the process of significantly increasing the number of charging stations.

For example, 1,300 public charging stations will be installed in Utrecht in the coming years. Two cars can be charged at the same time at each charger. There are also a lot more fast chargers coming in, so you won't have as much down time. This is the case in almost all cities (both in the Netherlands and abroad) where environmental and/or zero-emission zones have been announced.

3. The distance you can drive is often an uncertain factor; therefore, make planning a priority
Currently, electric cars can travel an average of 310 km per full battery. This is a reason for many organizations to delay the switch. However, the distance problem need not be a major concern, especially inside the Netherlands. Battery developments are in full swing, allowing us to travel longer distances in the future.

For now, the solution lies mainly in planning. Those who plan well in advance how much distance needs to be driven almost never run into problems. When planning the distance, also make sure you have some slack, so that you still won't have a dead battery in the event of any emergency along the way. Those who rent from Avis also get a newer model and therefore a newer battery, which ensures lower consumption.
